The Southwestern University of Finance and Economics' Local People's Congress Budget Review and Supervision Research Center hosted a team of researchers on April 26 under the direction of Peng Lin, a party group member and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress. The study team explored the "University History Museum," "Currency Museum," and "Research Center Data Room" to learn more about the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics’ history and accomplishments in teaching and research.

The research team at the symposium paid close attention to the Research Center for Budget Review and Supervision of Local People's Congress's introduction . Peng Lin stated that the Provincial People's Congress Budget Committee and the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics collaborated to establish the first Local People's Congress Budget Review and Supervision Research Center, which leverages university talents and in-depth joint research to help strengthen local people's congress budget review and supervision, and achieved a reasonably fruitful research result. The accomplishments merit full recognition, Peng Lin said. She emphasized that the relevant provincial departments and bureaus should actively support the development of the Research Center, establish good communication and coordination mechanisms, and effectively guarantee information sharing; the Budget Committee and Budget Work Committee should further strengthen the guidance to the Research Center and incorporate the support for the construction of the Research Center into the unified arrangement of annual critical work matters.

The Secretary of the Party Committee of the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and a member of the Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, Zhao Dewu, gave a thorough introduction to the university's development during the 14th Five-Year Plan, the construction of the "double first-class," and the makeup of the talent team. Zhao Dewu also stated that the Party Committee of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics would work to ensure that the university's development was in line with the plan's strategic considerations and strategic focus.
